The exhibit called "Feathered" explores the world of bird art. Sharon Hardin, exhibitions coordinator for the Sawtooth School for Visual Art says it features a variety of works that range from realistic to abstract.

“There are nine different artists, all in different media who utilize bird imagery in their work. It’s really a very fun show. We have everything from traditional wood bird carvings, to masks actually made out of feathers and sound objects to ceramic chickens that are life size,” says Hardin.

Several programs will run in conjunction with the “Feathered” exhibit, including a mask making workshop and an adult and child window alert workshop, where participants will design their own decals to help keep birds from crashing into windows at home.  

A reception to kick off the exhibit will be held Friday from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. The “Feathered” exhibit runs through November 16.

During the reception at Sawtooth on October 5, the Forsyth Audubon display will tell the story of the Lights Out program, which asks downtown building owners to turn off their lights at night to help prevent bird collisions.
