Triad Arts with David Ford Winston-Salem Symphony presents Concert for CommunityMarch 8, 2012The Winston-Salem Symphony has been a huge part of the Triad arts scene for 65 years, and what better way to celebrate that anniversary than with a free CONCERT FOR COMMUNITY. The performance on Saturday afternoon, March 17, at 2:00 pm will be held in Wait Chapel on the Campus of Wake Forest University. It features the Winston-Salem Symphony side-by-side with the WSS Youth Symphony, and the violinist winners of the 2012 Peter Perret Youth Talent Search. On the program will be music by Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Tchaikovsky, Dan Locklair and Ottorino Respighi. Conducting duties for the Concert for Community will be split between Winston-Salem Symphony Music Director Robert Moody and Associate Conductor Matthew Troy. They dropped by WFDD to talk about the concert with TAUC host David Ford.
