The Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts (MESDA) is one of the Triad’s best kept secrets. It’s at Old Salem Museums and Gardens and its most recent exhibit Our Spirited Ancestors: The Decorative Art of Drink will remain on display through September 2012 in the G. Wilson Douglas Jr. Gallery. The Decorative Art of Drink explores the furniture, silver, ceramics, and glassware that enhanced the days and nights of early Southerners.
MESDA associate curator Daniel Ackermann spoke with TAUC host David Ford by phone from Williamsburg, Virginia. Here’s part two of their conversation.
