Triad Arts Weekend!

June 3, 2011

Authoring Action's word wall glass quilt will be unveiled by Winston-Salem's mayor Alan Joines on June 3rd at 6:30pm during Gallery Hop. The public art work is mounted to the exterior wall of Breakfast Of Course on Trade Street in downtown Winston-Salem.

Artist Jan Detter talks about the art and the work by students ages 12-18 that went into creating it. This is part two of a two-part interview.

Patchwork 2011 is Friday night, June 3 at 8:00pm at First Presbyterian Church, 300 North Cherry Street  in downtown Winston-Salem. The proceeds from the Patchwork concert will go to support Arts for Life. Arts for Life is a non profit that brings arts, artists and arts therapy into the hospital rooms of children in North Carolina battling serious illness. AFL Winston-Salem was just named Charity of the Year 2011 by Charity Chicks.

Duck Hunter Shoots Angel is a hilarious play by Mitch Albom about two bumbling hunters who think they’ve done the unthinkable. Twin City Stage Director Mark Pirolo, and actors Don Gunther, who plays Sandy the reporter, and Rudy Anderson, who plays Lenny the photographer, stopped by WFDD to talk about the play with TAUC host David Ford.

PLEASE NOTE: Duck Hunter Shoots Angel is for mature audiences only.
