Triad Arts with David Ford The Performing Arts Series Continues at Appalachian State UniversityFebruary 4, 2013Every academic year some of the world’s most exciting and highly renowned artists make Appalachian State University their destination. They come to the High Country as part of the school’s highly acclaimed Performing Arts Series with great music, dance and theatre offerings at affordable costs for the entire Triad community.
New York Polyphony is establishing a reputation as one of the world’s finest vocal chamber ensembles with music ranging from austere medieval melodies to cutting-edge contemporary works. They’ll perform as part of the Performing Arts Series on Friday, February 8, at 8:00pm in Rosen Concert Hall.
Then, coming up on the 20th before there were pirates in the Caribbean or raiders in the lost ark, there was Jules Verne’s Around the World in 80 Days—the mother of all adventure stories. Phileas Fogg circles the world by boat, train, elephant and hot air balloon all against the clock. The performance is by America’s oldest theatre formed in 1809, the world renowned Walnut Street Theatre, and it’ll be on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at 8:00pm in Valborg Theatre.
App State Marketing and Public Relations Manager at the Office of Arts and Cultural Programs & Turchin Center for the Visual Arts Megan Stage spoke with David Ford from her office in Boone.
