Triad Arts with David Ford TAW 101008October 8, 2010On Friday, October 8, the North Carolina Humanities Council will present former NC Poet Laureate Fred Chappell its highest honor: The John Tyler Caldwell Award for the Humanities. He spoke with TAUC host David Ford from WFDD's Greensboro studio.
North Carolina New Contemporary is the name of a fascinating new exhibit opening this Friday at the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art (SECCA). Artists Hieronymus and Gabriel Shaffer stopped by WFDD studios along with SECCA curator Steven Matijcio to talk with TAUC host David Ford.
Dr. Wilson explores the poetry of three turn of the last century poets (Hardy, Yeats, Eliot) and the poetry they wrote that suggests and confronts issues of spiritual belief. Centenary United Methodist Church [NOTE: This is an encore presentation from October 2009. This year, Ed will lecture on the poetry of Blake, Wordsworth and Dillon Thomas. It's titled Poetry of Innocence, Experience and Reconciliation. The lectures will run on October 12, 19 and 26 in the auditorium at Centenary.]
