Sarod Master Gaurang Doshi presents Ragas at Dusk

October 9, 2012

Indian Classical music is a powerful tradition that has been passed down generation after generation for thousands of years. This weekend Triad audiences will have the unique opportunity to experience Ragas at Dusk from the tradition of one of the India’s most respected musicians, Dr. Laxmikant Doshi. He’s the guru of sarod master Gaurang Doshi (his son) who will perform live in concert in Brendle Recital Hall on Saturday, October 13, at 7:00pm. Gaurang will be joined by several of his outstanding sarod and sitar students, tabla artist Rajen Sukhadia, and guest pianist Dr. Thomas Swenson.

Rajen, Gaurang and sarod students Colin Allured and Jim Robertson recently stopped by Studio A with their instruments in hand to share their musical journeys with WFDD's David Ford. You can hear more of their in-studio performance this Friday afternoon at 1:00pm during Triad Arts Weekend.
