Triad Arts with David Ford Piedmont Wind Symphony presents Kenny GDecember 5, 2012Were you a band nerd in school? Or maybe you’re just someone who misses playing an instrument. Well, if you’ve ever drempt of buzzing your lips or soaking your reeds again, the Piedmont Wind Symphony may be your answer.
The goal of the ensemble is to further adult music education and provide performance opportunities for post college age musicians. The Piedmont Wind Symphony has been enhancing, enriching and expanding the musical experience available to adults in the Triad area for more than 20 years. It’s one fine ensemble made up of professional, amateur and student musicians from all areas of the Piedmont.
Come hear for yourself on Tuesday night, December 11, at 7:30 p.m., at the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Winston-Salem. PWS will be joined in concert by Grammy Award-winning saxophonist Kenny G for an unforgettable evening of his greatest hits as well as your holiday favorites. Director Rob Simon dropped by to talk about the Wind Symphony he founded back in 1990.
