Triad Arts with David Ford Piedmont Chamber Singers present music by Bach and BrittenApril 10, 2012The Piedmont Chamber Singers are celebrating their 35th birthday with a couple of Western Classical music’s big B’s: Bach and Britten. The concert is titled A Garland of Hope: Cantatas of Compassion, and it features Johann Sebastian Bach’s Cantata No. 21 I Had Much Affliction, and Benjamin Britten’s Cantata Compassion Op. 69. The PCS performances under the direction of co-founder and former artistic director Donald Armitage will be Saturday, April 14, at 7:30pm in Ardmore Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, and Sunday, April 15, at 3:00pm in Dana Auditorium in Greensboro. PCS artistic director Wendy Looker spoke with TAUC host David Ford by phone from her studio in Greensboro.
