National Black Theatre Festival presents Kwame Dawes (encore)

June 30, 2011

The National Black Theatre Festival is celebrating its 11th biennial season this year. Back in 2009 one of the most talked about performances at NBTF was titled Hope: Living and Loving with H.I.V. in Jamaica. The Emmy-nominated, multi media performance was written and performed by Ghanaian born, Jamaican poet, author and educator Kwame Dawes with original music by Kevin Simmons. Kwame shares his thoughts on his art and what living and loving in Jamaica means to him on Triad Arts Up Close.
