Triad Arts with David Ford Bel Canto Company presents Au NaturelOctober 10, 2012From its inception back in 1982 Bel Canto Company in Greensboro has been praised for its uniquely beautiful interpretation and the sensitive tonal quality of its singers. Since then, Bel Canto has presented hundreds of concerts throughout the Southeast, and performed thousands of pieces of music spanning the globe and the centuries. Their musical journey continues Friday, October 12 at 8:00pm, and Monday night, October 15 at 7:30pm in Christ United Methodist Church in Greensboro. Bel Canto Au Naturel features arrangements of spirituals, and 18th century works, as well as 20th century pieces by Frank Ticheli, and Dan Forrest. Bel Canto Artistic Director and conductor Dr. Welborn Young recently spoke with David about the first two works on the program: Eric Whitacre's Cloudburst, and three songs by Argentinian composer Carlos Guastavino.
