A Letter to the Commissioner

December 11, 2006

32 years ago, Hank Aaron passed Babe Ruth's record for career home runs. As a black ball player in the Deep South, he did it under much scrutiny and countless threats. Today, Barry Bonds - stained in steroid controversy - reaches out, nearly touching Aaron's storied record of 755 home runs. His scrutiny, of a different kind, might surpass Aaron's. 88.5 WFDD sports commentator Jeff Tiberii wrote a letter with his solution to the Bonds predicament.
