The Poison of Colorism

May 21, 2012

This month, WFDD’s Real People Real Stories is featuring the work of four Triad high school students. They participated in WFDD’s Radio 101 educational program. Radio 101 inspires confidence, creativity, critical thinking and community engagement while teaching radio journalism skills.

Sierra Lee is a senior at James Benson Dudley High School in Greensboro. In her Radio 101 story, Sierra describes a type of modern-day prejudice she struggles to overcome.

Lee hopes to attend Fayetteville State University in the fall as a Journalism major. She produced her story with assistance from WFDD senior producer Kathryn Mobley.

Kathryn Mobley and Lopa Shah are Radio 101’s instructors. Greg Keener is coordinator of WFDD’s educational initiatives.
