Proud to be an American

August 28, 2011

StoryLine gives voice to everyday people throughout our community as they share the experiences that shape their lives. Ernest Pedersen emigrated from Germany in 1967. Now he’s a naturalized U.S. citizen. Anna Shyfrina and her son Artem Slyusarenko moved from Ukraine to the United States in the late nineties. On July 4, 2001, Anna and Artem became U.S. citizens during a naturalization ceremony at Old Salem. In this week’s StoryLine, these three friends talk about their appreciation to be members of a new country. StoryLine is a project of the ECHO network and is made possible by the generosity of Salemtowne, a continuing care retirement community, where every life shines and stories are celebrated.
