Real People, Real Stories Poetry is for EverydayDecember 19, 2011The vibrant images of Robert Frost and other poets helped shape the world of guest commentator Terri Kirby Erickson. They transported her to exotic and exciting lands. They helped heal her unreachable pains. And they celebrated her victories. Now a poet herself, Erickson is urging young and old to take a walk on the ’wild side’ and consume a healthy dose of poetry, everyday. This essay first appeared in the Winston-Salem Journal earlier this month. Erickson is an award-winning author of three collections of poetry, including her latest book, In the Palms of Angels.
