Real People, Real Stories Growing Up StrongJanuary 9, 2011StoryLine gives voice to everyday people throughout our community as they share the experiences that shape their lives.
This week on StoryLine, Samuel Gamble and his sister Willie Mae Cherry grew up on a cotton farm in Georgia. Their father was a share crop farmer and the entire family helped run the farm. After high school, Samuel and Willie left the farm and moved to North Carolina searching for more opportunities. Although growing up on a cotton farm was difficult, Samuel and Willie Mae agree it made them appreciate the prosperity they later experienced.
StoryLine is a project of the ECHO network and is made possible by the generosity of Salemtowne, a continuing care retirement community, where every life shines and stories are celebrated.
