Fighting War on Two Fronts

April 30, 2012

World War II fractured and destroyed millions of lives. One veteran lives in the Triad and just turned 91. He says he never saw overseas combat while in the U.S. Army Air Force, but he says he fought on two painful battlefields. WFDD’s Real People, Real Stories guest commentator First Lieutenant Harvey Alexander explains. First Lieutenant Alexander left the services in 1944. World War II ended the following year, May 8, 1945. He earned a bachelor degree in accounting and taught in college. He later became a college administrator. First Lieutenant Alexander and his wife live in Greensboro.
