Real People, Real Stories Every Finger Accounted ForApril 15, 2012StoryLine gives voice to everyday people throughout our community as they share the experiences that shape their lives. It is a project of the ECHO network and is made possible by the generosity of Salemtowne, a continuing care retirement community, where every life shines and stories are celebrated.
In 1925, 4-year-old Macie Leinbach was unexpectantly orphaned. She and her siblings grew up in The Children’s Home in Winston-Salem.
Today’s, she’s in her 90’s and describes the home as nurturing. She also says The Children’s Home is where she learned one thing that’s always put money in her pocket. She shares some of her stories with Jim Long, former Executive Director of The Children’s Home.
